Sunsets, Red Rocks, and Chai: Our Sedona Adventure

After our amazing time at Lake Powell, we hopped in the car for a scenic two-hour drive to Sedona, Arizona — a town that instantly feels magical the moment you arrive. We stayed at a charming Airbnb right in the heart of town, the perfect base for exploring the area.

On our first morning, we had plans to visit Slide Rock State Park, but when we arrived, the line to get in was backed up — a testament to how popular this spot is! So, we decided to wait until the next day and went first thing in the morning. The short hike to the water was easy and scenic, and sliding into the cool water surrounded by the red rocks was an absolute thrill — the perfect way to start our Sedona adventure.

After settling in, we headed to Bell Rock Vortex. The energy here is something you truly feel (let’s just say I felt very at peace here). We relaxed by the water for a while, soaking in the stunning scenery and the peaceful desert vibes. Later, we stopped at Whole Foods to pick up groceries for our two-night stay. Dinner at the house was cozy and fun, and then we set off for a nighttime stroll around Sedona’s quaint streets, enjoying the crystal shops and serene charm of the town.

The next day, we wandered through Tlaquepaque Village, a picturesque shopping and art district full of galleries, boutiques, and beautiful courtyards. Of course, we couldn’t resist a stop at The Chai Spot — their chai tea was rich, warming, and the perfect pick-me-up for a sunny Sedona morning. For lunch, we grabbed a bite at Wildflower, a quick-stop eatery with flavors that completely wowed us.

As the day wound down, we found ourselves back at Bell Rock for what would be one of the highlights of the trip: sunset over the red rocks. Watching the sky change colors, with the iconic cliffs glowing in golden light, was nothing short of magical. We lingered until the sun dipped below the horizon, feeling grateful for the beauty and peace of Sedona.
